When most people hear the word malpractice, they think of medical malpractice. However, it also applies to most professions, including the legal profession.

Legal malpractice actually involves two lawsuits at once: first, you have to prove that the attorneys did in fact make a mistake; second, you have to prove that, but for the attorney's mistake, the outcome of the original suit would have been different.

Many legal malpractice cases involve time. Once an injury occurs, the person only has a certain amount of time within which to bring a lawsuit. If the lawsuit is not brought within that time frame, the suit is forever barred. Unfortunately, sometimes injured people hire an attorney to represent them and the attorney, for one reason or another, doesn't file the lawsuit in time. That is malpractice, and that is where our firm steps in.

Just as it is difficult to find one doctor to testify against another doctor, it is often hard to get one law firm to sue another law firm, even if the malpractice is obvious. At our firm, we are not afraid to right a wrong, even if it involves suing another law firm. Law firms, just like doctors and hospitals, need to be held accountable for their professional negligence.
